All Things Avs: THIS is why Peter Forsberg doesn’t need the money if/when he comes back to the NHL

  • Ben · 2 years ago
A hall of fame hockey player AND a savvy businessman? Who knew...

Peter Forsberg may not NEED NHL money, but I seriously doubt he will play for minimum $ in Philadelphia. If he liked Philadelphia so much, why did he rebuff the Flyers offer last year to extend his contract? Peter Forsberg wants to play for top dollar in Colorado, period.

Adrian, check your sources! He calls them Forspro, not Pforce.

P.S. Pforce is only one part of that group and I think it's the one that specifically does the Crocs part. But the larger group is Forspro.

Forspro, Pforce, ForceFors, ProFors - ugh, can't keep 'em all straight.

Money or no money, he obviously still has a passion for playing in the NHL, otherwise stories like these and the many other rumor pages out there, wouldn't exist, he would've just come out and said, "nah, I'll just stay here in Sweden." However, if money is no thing to him, Colorado would be retarded not to sign him back to Denver." Otherwise let's look about who else has been interested:
1.Flyers--ew, but at least he's on the east coast.
    2. Senators--yeah, like they need more scoring.
    3. Detroit--yes they have expressed interest, imagine how ugly he would look in that uni.
    4. Dallas--even their GM and VP Brett Hull flew to Sweden to talk to him.
Those are the serious ones, and the Kings, Preds, and Ducks have all been teams that have been thrown out there. We need him to help us, not destroy us, even at 90%, he's still an asset to have on the ice and the locker room, but if he somewhere else in the west, he will definately have an impact against the Avs, and it won't be pretty, so just persue, persue, and persue, have Joey give him a call (it worked on Smyth), why not?

Yeah, we've been trying to tell you this for a while now. Peter said himself in a Swedish interview during the summer that he would work his salary around the team's cap situation. And that he wouldn't be playing for the money...

Forsberg will play three games for the Swedish National team in Karjala Cup nov 8th-11th. Manager Bengt-Ake Gustafsson announced it tonight...he might be ready for the NHL sooner than we thought.. :-)

Yes, he is already skating well. Look at www.aftonbladet.se

Hey, Im from philly and we I was at the game when forsberg was traded and the second we heard that it was offical, the first thing everyone said was, "He'll be back!" I dont know what it was about the situation but everyone was feeling the same thing. He just seemed to fit in so well and if it weren't for the front office messing up everything possible around him, we probably could have kept him!

Oh yeah, our GM and Pres have reportedly been pretty much living over in Sweden trying to get him back and from all reports, they are looking to be somewhat successful!
